His future at Benfica appears to be nearing an end. Cillesen, the Dutch keeper currently 2nd choice to Ter Stegen at Barcelona, appears to be on his way to Benfica.

A number of English clubs, including big sides like Arsenal and United, as well as Roma, are said to be interested in his services. Benfica are holding out for about 15 million euros.

Jan Oblak, now at Atletico and considered to be the best in the world, came through Benfica and so did current City keeper Ederson. Vlachodimos still has some way to go, but he can rank among the world's best if he continues developing like he has.

Cillensen, the Dutch keeper, was tipped for a move to Benfica, but he's now confirmed to be a Valencia player. Vlachodimos will likely remain the number one choice.

It appears Perin, who is now third choice at Juventus, is on his way to Benfica. Vlachodimos is about to have a lot of competition.

It's beginning to look that way. There are clubs in Germany who have expressed interest, but the price Benfica have set is too high. Roma too were interested, but then choose to pursue Barkas at half the cost.

Perin failed his physical. Benfica won't sign him. They're now considering Swedish keeper Robin Olsen, but he was poor at Roma. Vlachodimos should be able to keep his place as the number one over Olsen.

In other news, he took advantage of the rule change to perform a new, innovative play that has caught the headlines. You can see the video in the link below:

If an English team fails to sign him before the deadline, then he will be offered a new contract by Benfica. His reported buyout will be 60 miilion euros!

Benfica demolished rivals Sporting with a 5-0 win for the Super Cup! He looked great in goal and made some key saves to keep the match balanced for much of the first period. Benfica finally scored at around the 40th minute mark.
