Rebrov is still being targeted, so watch this space, am sure there will be other clubs chasing him so it will be hard

What’s the big fascination with Rebrov all of a sudden?
personally from the reports iv seen daily we are still a mess. Meli apparently says “if we find a better coach we will go for them, if not we have Manolo” is that a normal thing to say?
then we have our media already starting their stories and trying to excite the fans when reality is we know not much will change from what we’ve experienced the last few off seasons.
then Meli says when he gives aek away aek will be debt free and not owe a cent, which tells me he ain’t spending much.

It always happens when we are linked with a new manager, it drags on for days, weeks. Same with transfers.
I have never seen the guy manage or one of his teams play, all I can do is base it off his track record and he has a good one.
Compared to the managers we have usually brought in with the exception maybe of Carrera he is better than what we are usually linked with.
In regards to what Mel said in his big interview, I will say one thing, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos recently did a interview with SDNA and from what I gathered in my opinion you can see how things started to go down hill for us after doing so well since the 'return' is when Bajevic left.
Since then, we have been on a downward spiral. I think he was able to advise Mel on some decisions he tends to make that are instinctive/impulsive that maybe were not always good (like the one you said Original about looking for a new manager and if we dont find anybody better we have Manolo). Now it doesnt seem he has anybody with the experience Bajevic had to guide him.
Anyway, let's see what happens. We need a top manager and a shit load of transfers, at the back especially.

Read Mel's interview. While I think he was correct to say Oly deserved the last 2 championships, I think the interview was a long winded explanation (if you can even call it that) of why, even at this stage, he is not going to spend to give AEK a decent team. He seems to have some deep neurosis over spending money. Completely natural for a normal guy, kinda dark though coming from a billionaire.
Concerning Rebrov, he was in charge of the biggest club in Hungary with double the budget of their nearest rival so we must take his skills as a manager with a pinch of salt. However this is probably why Tiger likes the guy. He knows what it is to manage a squad of players worth around £30 mil as his former club has an identical budget to AEK and had a new stadium too. The problem I forsee is that no matter how he rotates the players Mel has acquired, there is no happy ending there as their quality is below PAOK and Oly.

Reaper I think you’re being generous when you say “this is probably why tiger likes the guy” he probably doesn’t even know who he is.
Always looking for the cheap option. Although I don’t think our squad is too bad, reality is we haven’t really built going into the new stadium. Coach after coach, loan after loan, cheap buy after cheap buy, that’s all it’s even been.
We had Carrera who personally I thought was a great tactician but the old brigade in our squad didn’t like his methods and got him sacked. They said when he came he’d have the keys to build a team, give it a day or two and you’ll hear the same malakies toward Rebrov.
But reality is these coaches aren’t given the tools they need to build and succeed.

You signed Goutas.
Hnid, Simao, & Deletic all pretty much confirmed to go unless Milojevic wants to keep any of them but very unlikely.
Spezia will 99% buy Verde.
Cant see us paying what Oliveira wants (€1.2m) so he is pretty much gone too.
Bakakis, Tsintotas, Kristicic, Nedelecearu linked with moves way.

Araujo would be interesting. Kind of injury prone and was not at his best last time round. Defo not worth the nearly 3m but would take him over Oliveira if im being honest.
Latest name is Olivier Ntcham of Celtic - I remember him from out qualifying games and he was pretty good and was highly rated/sought after. Has dropped off big time since according to Celtic fans and his career since. Villas Boas basically quit Marseille because he didn't want him and the board insisted on signing him. Has 1 year left on his contract at Celtic but could be terminated.
Would definitely be more that capable in our league but my only question is if he has the motivation.

Stankovic looks a good signing for us, we needed a GK the other 2 didn’t impress me much.
I see Tzavellas name popping up, please tell me that’s not true, going backwards if we bring players like that.
As for Araujo not too sure on him, surely our coach could find a better option and talent from Serbia since he would know the balkans well.
Ntcham would be very good signing if it was to happen.
Gota bring defenders in ASAP, that’s our weakest area.
