Aris coach gave a fairly big interview and the only player he mentioned was Fetfa:

What was the goalkeeper doing? Good run, good touch, good finish. Simple. He's doing OK, but he has the quality do more and he needs to show that. He can be the best player in the league if he improves certain areas of his game. I'd like to see him curl some free-kicks. I think if he really works at that, he'll add a whole new dimension to his game. Winning fouls in or outside the penalty area is a specialty of his and if he can strike the ball right after, he'll be scoring plenty more.

If he managed to work on few areas of his game, like his finishing and set-piece taking, he'd have become an indispensable player for Greece.
That said, it's frustrating to see players like Masouras get chances at OSFP Fetfatzidis could never get. Then again, if Masouras was competing with players like Mirallas, would he have seen the pitch? I can at least take console in the fact that what OSFP got wrong with Fetfatzidis, they got right with Fortounis, but Fetfatzidis really ought to be today what Fortounis became for Olympiacos.
It's so frustrating to see these Japanese players, like Takefusa Kuba at Real Madrid and Inamoto at Liverpool, and then we had players like Ninis and Fetfatzidis who were better than these Japs. Greece used to have clubs that were competing in the quarter-finals of the UCL. That hasn't happened in 18 years! The problem was not that we couldn't produce top players. The problem is Greek football is badly mismanaged. On so many levels Greek football is failing. There's no great vision for Greek football as a whole. The domestic league is little more than a pissing contest. There are not Greek coaches of note. Greek players have had their development outsourced abroad in countries like the Netherlands, Germany, and Portugal. Players who rely on their development in Greece are effectively wasting away.
We will probably never see a player of Fetfatzidis' unique physical characteristics ever again. And to put it into perspective, imagine if Giannis Antekounmpo never went to the NBA. Would he be the player he is now if he had remained in Greece? Not even close. That's how far behind the curve Greece has fallen in footballing terms, never mind in comparison to the NBA and the Euroleague.Last edited by Don Giovanni; 06-27-2020, 04:29 AM.

I would kinda understand you getting triggered by people praising someone like Albanis or someone of that ability, but not Fetfa. He has the second highest amount of assists this season across the league.
His career choices have been poor and he has lacked character. Of course the average Greek's response to such a unique but flawed player is to bully him and question those who praise him.. that is why the Super League is the way it is.. fans always fighting the wrong battles..
However about Greece producing many more players a lot better than Fetfa? A player who can consistently run past opposing players to create an assist is rare - in most countries. Will Greece produce stronger players, taller players, more hardworking players, better goal scorers - sure. But someone with Fetfa's ability on the ball? Not so much. Greece is likely to get a few more Salpigidis types perhaps. A couple more Limnios types..
