Good string of games for the boys, gives us a bit of an insurance policy for euro 2024, but realistically, we topped a group we SHOULD'VE. But it feels good the ethniki has achieved something tangible in nearly a decade

If we were handily beating teams in league B we wouldn't be in league C lol.

Either way I've only watched the highlights and much like his time at AEK--I was annoyed we only had him for a year--he has them playing proper attacking football and this competition while seemingly meaningless to many is a way to arrange friendlies easier and also a good way to create team synergy and focus. We've lacked it for many campaigns now.

If we can hang with the regulars in the League B, then we're back to where we need to be. Competing.

I will judge the team against better teams. We still look to pass backwards most the time even against teams that have footballers who have other jobs besides football. Building a team around Mandalos, Siopis and Bakasetas is asking for trouble.

On the plus, we have a proper full back in Baldock. Relieved he replaced Rota.

Agreed V, I was just relieved more than anything that they achieved something of substance, even if it's a promotion in Nations league. But a fully FUNCTIONAL national team doesn't carry players, let alone starts them consistently like Bakasetas, Mantalos and Bouchalakis, who were part of the ethniki's last three failed campaigns. They have gone long stretches, literally calender years in sub par and destructive performances for the ethniki.

A properly run national team would've already bled in youngsters consistently like Tzolis, Alexandropoulos, even a guy I rate like Sebastion Vasiliadis, who still hasn't got a run. You're telling me Kourbelis or Boucha are that untouchable .
