Alefantos gets a lot right. Absolutely we need to play three at the back for starters. I think he overdoes his criticism of Mitroglou. On everything else he is spot on.

Katsouranis suggest Tziolis gives 100% and that he's a solider. Tziolis is a big softy, not a soldier, who hasn't given 100% to Greece since the 3-1 win over Romania. He played on fire that game, but he's never played like that since. Never. He walks, never runs. He's the spitting image of Katsouranis. That's the problem here, but Katsouranis will be the last one to admit it.

Yes, we need patience, but not for Tzavellas and Tziolis. We knew before the match they would be disastrous. Both made the tragic errors that led to the two goals yesterday. Their errors cost us the game. No way Sokratis or Siovas make the mistake Tzavellas made. Tzavellas' failed headed clearance was a result of his short stature and the fact he's not athletic enough. He's not cut out to defend in the air. Even at 1-0, we could have secured a draw and kept the game within distance, but Tziolis' rash challenge for the ball needlessly left us exposed. His decision to step up and then failing to win the ball allowed Finland the space they needed to open us up. Neither of them belonged on that pitch


Tzavellas plays for a team that had lost 6-0 to Galatasaray only a week prior to the loss to Hungary. We absurdly have three left-backs on the team when only two are needed. Tziolis languishes at the bottom of the Saudi Arabian league. Meanwhile Vlahodimos and Siovas can't even get looks into this team. Holebas, our currently most in-form player, has been blacklisted.

Now we will probably miss out on Euro 2020 because of Skibbe, Tziolis, Tzavellas, the EPO, a boot licking media, and players like Katsouranis who persist in encouraging these tragic displays of something that barely resembles football.

If I was a player who wanted an article written about me (not saying this is..) I would think around 2000 euros would be a fair price. Also I would expect the piece to be fairly high up the splash page of the website which this was as opposed to being buried down the bottom of the page.
