He was going to sign for Napoli! He had agreed terms with them, but then Liverpool swooped in.
Little wonder why they signed him...
In 2019/20, Liverpool’s new left-back had the best crossing success of any left-back in Europe.
They've been tracking him for a couple of years. Sportime in Greece were the first to report Liverpool's intent this summer. And despite links to Norwich's Jamal Lewis, the truth is Tsimikas was Liverpool's first choice. I believe his performance against Wolves was really what sealed the move. Tsimikas put to bed any doubt of his ability to compete in England. That game showed the strength of his character. He was completely undaunted by Traore and it's evident he relishes the challenge of winning his place against Robertson, who I do think deserves to be considered the best left-back in football ATM.According to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports, Liverpool first witnessed Tsimikas’s ability while watching Chirivella (a Liverpool player) on loan at Willem II in the Netherlands.

His crosses are on point. Very impressive. Some misplaced ground passes, he needs to fix. His chemistry with Mane is very good.
Mane offcourse seems a little off from previous years. Klopp may need to make a signing here.
Curtis Jones and Kaide Gordon are very promising.

Mane is definitely on the downslope and between him, Salah, and Firminio, I'd say there's a good argument for finding another replacement for him. If Liverpool could somehow land Haaland, holy shit.Originally posted by Val View PostHis crosses are on point. Very impressive. Some misplaced ground passes, he needs to fix.
