Mate you really overate Masouras as a CAM, he is a very unpolished player, much running and energy which is great but you also need good control and finish. For all the bads put on Bakasetas he has been more effective of late and has helped the Ethniki play a nice flowing game.
We keep saying how motivated one guys is from another - we dont know this!!! We are going of pictures from the TV. I am sure all the guys are very motivated and doing what's best.
I cant see Masouras as a CAM, he doesn't have great control and Baka is better than him there and has offered more to the ethniki in the last period, this more chances his way and he's taken then with both feet.
Don's post above is spot on.

I agree with what your saying but I also look at it this way. Bakasetas and Masouras are not the same player they are different but both lack confidence in front of goal. Masouras came from Panionios to Olympiakos and has improved his game and he got a call up for the first when he signed for Olympiakos. Bakasetas came from Panionios and then went to AEK. I believe he hasn’t improved his game and I think he has declined since then. There have been comparisons between Mantalos and Masouras and I think @Thrylos made that comparison. Look at all the chances Masouras had to himself when he has come on off the bench for Greece. Finishing is his problem.
I don’t if it’s because AEK is a big step up from Panionios or he wasn’t any good to begin with. Masouras seems more motivated and I can see him game developing. He has confidence issues but he will come around eventually. Bakasetas problem is his speed. This I believe let’s him down a lot in my opinion. When he loses the ball it’s because he is slow in his reactions and slow physical. Against heavyweights Bakasetas is useless might as well play with a man down. The only positive Bakasetas made against Italy was that pass to Limnios who was through on goal. You can’t count on him to take players on or turn players.
Masouras is effective at CAM and on the wing. We all know how Bakasetas is on the wing. I just think Masouras has more to offer. I’d rather see Masouras be given more chances than Bakasetas.

I think Masouras is a good player with potential to maybe one day play in the EPL, but we need some perspective here. Against Tottenham Masouras produced one shot straight at the keeper. He has only scored once in the Greek league all season. His only other goal for Olympiacos this season came against Basaksehir in UCL qualifying. These goals were practically identical: headers inside the the 6-yard box. He's not a regular starter for the club. With Greece, he has scored one goal and provided one assist, both coming against lowly Liechtenstein. He has a long way to go still before we can properly assess his value. Right now he hasn't shown enough to suggest he's an important player.
If the measuring stick is that he's better than Bakasetas, then what does that tell us? Not much. Also I think Mantalos and Fortounis are likelier to start ahead of them both at this rate. Our guys need to do a lot better, all of them. Greek football has hit a major low point. Cyprus has been outperforming Greece in European club football and internationally. When Delle Ali is walking literal circles around Semedo, it's apparent that the gulf in quality between English clubs and Greek clubs remains very big. Meriah wasn't the only issue. OSFP lack quality to compete with the teams of Tottenham's stature. The same goes for Greece. We need players competing at clubs in the highest levels.

SportFM has made a video collage of how many games Meriah has cost Olympiacos:

Speaks volumes of how Olympiacos and Greeks in general give foreigners the benefit of the doubt. Fetfa misses a chance vs PAO and he is forced out the club. Meriah costs Olympiacos last year's championship and countless other games and nothing..

I can’t stand Mariah... he fucked the whole team. Semedo must be having back problems for carrying this guy all season. Meriah is garbage. I bet the young Serb CB or Avraam would’ve done better.
Tsimikas is great, but isn’t as effective as Koutris going forward. Defensively Tsimikas is very good. Semedo is brilliant and Omar is very average. Sa is outstanding.
I would love to have midfielders like Guilherme and Camara in the Greece midfield. Bouchalakis I thought was ok this game.
Masouras is a gun in my opinion. When he gets more confidence this guy will be a beast for club and country. Whoever thought Masouras and Bakasetas are no different to each other or the same player is laughable because Masouras is a WAY better player than Bakasetas. Masouras has done more for Greece than Bakasetas also in terms of assists and goals. Both need to work on their finishing but Masouras is above Bakasetas in terms of talent and ability.
I like Podence but sometimes he has brain farts. El Arabi scored a great goal. He has a touch of donkey sometimes.
I believe the Meriah mistake killed our momentum. I don’t know how this guy is starting for us and playing champions league. Risvanis or Goutas would be a better replacement.

The hooligans were desperate for a fight. Instead of joining a boxing club like a normal human, they needed the rush of attacking strangers. They didn't want to damage Olympiacos - or get arrested - so they picked the youth game were they would be no police and no chance of Olympiacos as a club being punished. Pathetic really, but until Greece develops a culture of putting these people in jail, we will see hooliganism continue, across Greece.

In regards to the game - where the hell is this against Panathinaikos?? if we played in the GSL 90% of how we play in the CL and the CL qualifiers we would smash every team 4-0 .

This is embarrassing for the club and its fans - if you want to be a hooligan go fight the hooligans away from the stadium. The only thing these idiots accomplished is to make Oly fans targets in the return game in Germany - a game where we would have huge support with the number of Greeks there plus those who travelled - and possibly a fan ban in the game against Red Star. Finally they make fools of themselves and more importantly Greek football .
