They walked into the store and saw Battle there, noticing he was quite tall and saying they hoped to be that tall someday.

Battle has three previous arrests, according to Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan.

As the two victims and their friend walked home from the alley, the shots rang out, Deenihan said. He had said previously that the gunman ran up and shot and killed them “for no reason.”

Anyone going to march for them? There are some bad cops, but for every Tamir Rice who get killed by cops, how many good kids like these two boys are getting shot or killed every weekend in South Side, Chicago by scum like Laroy Battle?

You know George Floyd was behind the wheel of a car described as drunk when the call came into the police. People say he was arrested over a $20 bill, in fact he was under the influence too and in the driver seat of a car, refusing to get out. He was intoxicated on fetanyl and a little bit of meth, or colloquially known as speedball. That's in the autopsy report. And contrary to popular myth, he did not choke to death, he died because of a combination of things that resulted in heart failure, and the way the police restrained him did in fact play a role in that.

They parade his image around almost like he's a saint, a martyr. The dude was trying to turn his life around and I can respect that, but he was lapsing and his history shows he was no saint. What happened to him was bad, but if his death is spotlighted, then why aren't the deaths of Charles Riley and Jasean Francis being spotlighted?

People are worried about the cops, but imagine living in a neighborhood where your kids can't even go down the street to buy candy without risking their lives because of scum like Laroy Battle. And no amount of counselors are going to help Laroy. He should been kept in a cage, not put on probation, and if he had been, these two boys would still be alive.

PSA to all who live in America - we are witnessing the fall of America as we know it and I would highly recommend purchasing a firearm for your own safety.

We can no longer rely on the police to provide that safety as many major cities either get rid of the police force or de-fund them which will undoubtedly cause higher crime rates.

Also, many officers will not want to get involved in calls that involve riots, mobs, etc. (see the Mark & Patricia McCloskey situation). They called the cops and the community they lived in had private security - neither showed up.

I hate to say it but America is quickly plunging itself into a state of necessary civil war. For those who fall in the middle are ignored and the hardliners on either side of the aisle raise the rhetoric to the point where armed conflict seems inevitable.

A weak republican party that seems to have cowered to the demands of the mob versus a democratic party that should be re-branded to the socialist party, continues to dominate every single facet of American life.

Make no mistake, these riots, mobs, moves to de-fund cops have nothing to do with George Floyd in the grand scheme of things - this goes far beyond that. This really is all about November and although I personally will not vote, I suspect the media and every other leftist facet of society will try to frame the corona virus as a way to not have live debates - and every attempt in the book will be made to ensure dementia sleepy/creepy joe will win.

Hannity and Trump should really be ashamed of helping free this scum Lorance. He was lucky he only got 19 years in the first place, but a pardon! Trump needs to stop watching Hannity and get the facts before he makes anymore of these harebrained decisions.

I wonder how many idiots who hate the police are the same morons who thank people in the military for their service? BTW if you really want to thank these men for their service, demand they get pulled out from Afghanistan and try not to put them in harms way unless it's truly necessary. People don't join the armed forces to become entitle and receive fringe benefits, but they don't join to be at war all the time either.

Bin Laden was killed in 2011. The US was allied with al-Qaeda in fighting against Assad and Ghaddafi. What the hell are we doing in these places? If only the public protested these wars like they protest the police in the middle of a pandemic, than maybe I'd have more respect for the protesters, but apparently they can't be bothered to bring the troops home and bring men like Lorance to justice.

What does exist is a twice fired former medical examiner, first fired by New York City and then by Suffold County, who serves as a hired gun to give inflamatory statements to the media in support of civil lawsuits for money. His name is Michael Baden.

Baden did no second autopsy. He viewed the video of officer Chauvin and gave his opinion that Chauvin killed Floyd by cutting off oxygen and blood to the brain. In this rhetorical footwork, he was aided by the rightwing idiot Sean Hannity on Fox News.

It appears Michael Baden didn't actually carry out an autopsy, another doctor did. Also, the private autopsy was limited by a variety of factors:

The findings by the family’s private medical examiners directly contradict the report that there was no asphyxia, said Dr. Allecia M. Wilson, of the University of Michigan, one of the doctors who examined his body. The physical evidence showed that the pressure applied led to his death, she said. In an interview, Dr. Michael Baden, who also participated in the private autopsy, said there was also some hemorrhaging around the right carotid area.

Although she has not had access to the full medical examiner’s report, Dr. Wilson said: “We have seen accounts from the complaint and based on that, yes our findings do differ. Some of the information I read from that complaint states that there was no evidence of traumatic asphyxia. This is the point in which we do disagree. There is evidence in this case of mechanical or traumatic asphyxia.” She noted that she did not have access to toxicology results, tissue samples or some organs. Those items are not likely to change the results, she said.

“He was in good health,” Dr. Baden said.

The private autopsy concluded that even without evidence of “traumatic” asphyxia, such as broken bones, the compression caused by the officers still led to Mr. Floyd’s death by depriving his brain of blood and oxygen and his lungs of air.

I don't understand how they can suggest he was in good health when the toxicology report suggest he was speedballing. How could that not have been a factor?
