there are others who say that Israel and Turkey have a number of common interests in the region. According to some, Israel is eager to sign a maritime deal with Turkey similar to that signed between Turkey and Libya’s GNA. They argue that Turkey has to do this in order to squeeze Greece and the Greek Cypriot administration into a corner. In addition, a tweet recently posted by Israel’s official account claiming that Israel is proud of its diplomatic relations with Turkey and hopes to boost these ties further is a sign that a possible deal is on the table. But this claim has been denied by Israel on social media.
I think this is a staged provocation by the Turks to create a pretext for a military confrontation. They know their claims over our waters hold no legitimacy and they need to drag us into a military incident to create one.
There's nothing new about this. They have even been taped talking about such things in the past. For example, that little mustachioed bugger Davutoglu held this conversation in his office when he was foreign minister (he later became prime minister). He was quoted as saying this:
Without a strong pretext, we cannot tell US Secretary of State [John] Kerry that we need to take extraordinary measures.
Hakan Fidan, the chief of their intelligence agency MIT, both then and now, replied:
If needed, I would dispatch four men to Syria. [Then] I would have them fire eight mortar shells at the Turkish side and create an excuse for war. We can have them attack the tomb of Suleiman Shah as well.
There are even more notorious examples of Turkish false flags. Take the bombing the Turkish consulate and the Ataturk museum in Thessaloniki, where Turkey's republican founder was born. That false flag inspired the horrific and evil 1950 pogroms against Greeks living in Turkey and resulted in a mass exodus. The false flag was revealed as such upon a Turkish trial.
THERE IS growing concern in the EU that a military conflict could break out within the bloc's borders, as Greece rapidly prepares for an 'invasion' from Turkish forces.
^ Will the EU have our backs? I to think they won't if the Turks are able to create the right pretext. They'll join the Turks in believing the lie I fear.
When pretexts cannot be found, assailants sometimes resort to other tactics. In an apparent attempt to conceal the online presence of at least one church, for instance, authorities labeled its website "pornographic," and blocked it. "[T]his hateful

If shots are fired between Greeks and Turks - the EU will not take a side. It will tell both sides to calm themseves and encourage the begining a ceasefire process - thus protecting any advances the Turks have made.
Greece has no agreements or treaties in place with any EU member concerning a conflict with Turkey. In fact due to Germany being Turkey's biggest global investor, the EU will tend to side with Turkey - but i suspect what they will do is blame both sides.
Also, Israel didn't sign a joint statement we had with other countries denouncing Turkey's deal with Libya:
Israel didn’t even sign the joint statement drafted by Egypt, France, Greece, Cyprus and the UAE voicing opposition to the Turkish-Libyan agreement. And according to Turkish media reports, it’s considering increasing its cooperation with Ankara to ensure that the gas Israeli companies are producing in the Mediterranean can be transported to Europe.
These Israeli-Turkish ties could confront Jerusalem with a dilemma. Should it go along with its allies – Egypt, Greece and Cyprus – or adopt an independent policy that could undermine its cooperation with them?
The Turk embassy needs to be shut down at this point. When they stop running MIT operations out of there and blatantly acting as a mouth piece for Turkey - we may be able to revisit things but right now they need to be shut down and sent packing. Take the ambassador the long way and have him take a nice look at all the islands that they want to invade
