What more can he do?

1/ State that the EU and Germany's silence to this invasion has damaged Europe.

2/ Suspend asylum indefinitely until the end of crisis. Absurd to give himself/Greece a deadline.

3/ Instruct the Greek navy to push boats back to Turkey - explain Greece is already full.

4/ Ask the EU to meet in Alexandroupoli.

5/ Tell the UN a Greek citizen has the same value as an immigrant in response to them parroting Erdogan's nonsense about Greeks injuring immigrants at the border - immigrants who are using missiles against Greeks.

Greeks are not justified to massacre these people.

No one is.

Through all of this is it is incredible how quiet Angel Merkel has been. She reminds me of how Stalin acted after the German invasion, where Stalin laid low and made no attempt to quiet the masses about the uncertainty that would occur.

Merkel thinks by not speaking people will forget how Germany is top dog in the EU and thus has a ton of responsibility in all of this. Merkel aims to not speak because German/Turkish economic interests intertwine on a ton of points and because during the 2015 migrant crisis, Merkel went from inviting everyone in to regretting it and having her popularity/legitimacy among Germans cut a ton.

The EU must cease to exist in its current form. It cannot be a block of countries who buy a ton from Germany and are held hostage as such. It needs to be all inclusive and needs a change in leadership (likely France).

Greece also needs to veto every EU law that tries to get past unless more help comes, unless harsher measures are adopted versus Turkey, and until other EU countries agree to take in a portion of the people currently in Greece/or will be coming.

We can't stop everyone, but I think Mitsotakis and co has shown some teeth through this. I am happy with the response, specifically at Evro. I think more can be done in the aegean, but it's a lot harder at sea than it is on land.

I think this situation is going to intensify some and we have to watch the propoganda being spread, and also have to be mindful in regards to how Greece looks in all of this. For as much as we all know Greece is in the right, there are a bunch of people from Germany, or other western countries who view Greeks as racists/fascists because they're seeing images of kids and it pulls at their emotional responses.

People don't care to research what Turkey is doing in Syria, or how Turkey is using these migrants (who mostly aren't syrian) as a means to extort more out of the EU.

I'm not fully happy with Mitsotakis' response and messaging so far, but let's not forget what he's up against either. The Turks, Tsipras, and the busybodies at the UN, Der Speigel and these pro-migrant NGOs are the bigger problem, not Mitsotakis, but he has to be more committed and stronger in his actions and responses.

The support they're highlighting is limited to the war in Syria. The fact a drilling ship was sold to Turkey out of Wales, for far less than it's monetary value, is more bothersome.
