Unfortunately, must of the solidarities that the locals give to immigrants is based on victimizing the immigrants and in a reformist way. I believe the immigrants crises cannot be solved by changing the laws because capitalism and states created the immigrants crises, so as long as the creator of immigrants crises exist, the crises exist too and that is why the solidarities to the immigrants should have anti-state and anti-capitalist characteristics. In my opinion, at the moment, solidarity means attack and we need a movement of solidarities that have anti-capitalism and anti-state characteristics in Greece. We must attack the interests of state and capitalism in solidarity with immigrants.

Since a few days ago, thousands of immigrants are in the border of Greece/Turkey and try to get inside EU, but the cops and soldiers used war bullets and tear gas against immigrants. While I believe we should not get inside the political game of the states, right now, the most useful solidarity to the immigrants who are at the border is to arm them because the answer to bullets should be bullets back and this is the only way to open the border for all the immigrants. We as immigrants should fight for what we need and at the moment, our first need is survival, so we must destroy those who are killing us; we have nothing to lose but our fear.

He doesn't sound too different from talking heads on CNN and MSNBC. His manifesto reads like AOC's campaign pledges.

Tanker full of migrants grounded on Kea island coast, Greece

A small coastal tanker with 190 migrants, mostly young men, and 3 crew on board ran aground on Kea island, Cyclades archipelago, Aegean sea, Greece, on a breakwater or embankment, in the morning Mar 16. Unidentified tanker – most probably, the ship is not listed in any international database – sailed from Canakkale, planning to get to Italy. Stormy weather grounded tanker on Kea coast. Migrants are taken ashore and provided shelter, 3 crew are suspects in human trafficking. Understood (judging from photos published by Greek media) most migrants are from African countries, not from Syria.

Canakkale is near the ancient site of Troy. It's a port town in Turkey at the southern part of the Dardanelles strait. Kea is an island in the Cyclades right off the coast of the Attica region (it's only 20km from Sounio). How did this tanker, without international listing, manage to get so far?

Greek newspaper Ekathimerini reported on Wednesday that the number of migrants at the border areas has fallen to around 2,000.

Thanks in no small part to the phenomenal job our young men did securing the border. No room for complacency and let's keep working to reduce those numbers and prevent Erdogan from getting away from these antics. He has to pay for this.

Mitsotakis hasn't done enough. He needs to speak up and make the world better understand the threat posed by Erdogan. He's been to quiet and for me that is the chief criticism against him.

That said, most of the blame for the challenges we now face I think should be shouldered by Tsipras who has left Greece in a weaker position. The economic crisis played its part, but Tsipras, the student communist, hurt us with his Marxist-inspired policies (namely open borders). Not only that, imagine if Mitsotakis didn't take the hardline he did on the migrants, suspending refugee claims and bottle-necking the flow to the islands! Tsipras wanted to take migrants from the islands to the mainland, which would have played right into Erdogan's hands! Things would have been far worse had he remained in power, even more so with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

I imagine there are quite a few Greeks who think building a wall between the US and Mexico is stupid. At this point do any Greeks doubt that Evros needs a wall or that Greece should erect barriers on sea? For the US I think it's debatable, but not as stupid or as unnecessary as some think. For all the hate Trump gets, he's isn't actually wrong or racist for thinking along those lines. It's a matter of national security and one worthy of debate in terms of it's actual efficacy and purpose. For Greece, I think there is no question that we need to erect barriers vis-a-vis Turkey and our islands, land. We can't keep letting migrants in even if Turkey isn't systemically dumping them off into the sea.

Although Greece may have been quiet in their handling of the Turkish-GNA aggression, it appears rather Athens was methodically, systematically, patiently and under the scrutiny of enemy radars, preparing its defense to counter Turkey’s announcement to detect hydrocarbons in Greek maritime space.

Well Reaper, it appears Greece has been making the necessary preparations to protect what really matters. Whether those defenses are good enough remains to be seen, but with the EU patrolling around, we are in a good standing and that should be enough to ward off Erdogan. I'm disappointed we didn't take more authority, however, over Operation Irini. That to me suggests we remain woefully unprepared and have a lot of work to still do. Greece needs to be at the forefront of her defenses!

Now that GNA is effectively cutoff from Turkey, they will break apart and rival factions within will cut deals with the LNA (I mentioned earlier how some have been killing one another, using the fight with Haftar as an excuse to exact vengeance against their temporary allies, but really their rivals). Those Syrian jihadist deserve to get killed and I hope they do too. It's just a matter of time before Sarraj retreats to Turkey I think.

Albania’s Top Channel television station revealed that since last summer a working group has been set up with absolute secrecy to set up Immigrant Reception Centers in the Greek towns of Argyrokastro (for 5,000 people), Korytsas (5,000), Agioi Saranda (1,000), while First Aid Stations will be set up in border crossings with Greece (Kakavia, Ripesi, Mavromati, Treis Gefyres, Kapestitsa). The initial plan concerns the establishment and operation of Refugee Reception Centers, but the working group that has been set up – according to Albanian reports – is working to ensure that these populations are permanently housed either in new functional structures or in rural houses in the area.

Just as Turkish intelligence agents played a key role in inciting violence on the Greek-Turkey border, they will now be able to create tensions on the Greek-Albanian border.

Sadly the GNA with Turkish help just retook the entire Libyan Western quadrant from the LNA yesterday. The LNA needed help but sadly all they got from France and Greece were warm words. Turks put up hardware and men and were rewarded. Like how the Byzantine Empire disintegrated section by section as the Greeks and West watched on.. the same is happening now.

In any case, the GNA rival factions refuse to fight for Turkey. I'm telling you Reaper, they will break and make a deal with Haftar. But Mitsotakis needs to talk up the threat posed by Erdogan and put him in the same boat as Iran:

Iran could be stretched too thin to gain direct control of Libya on its own. However, should its forces side with Turkish militias and Tripoli government forces, it could consolidate territorial control by creating additional physical obstacles in the way of Khalifa Haftar’s advance. For Turkey, Libya is part of both its neo-Ottoman defense line and its strategy to unite pro-Muslim Brotherhood parties, governments, militias, and footholds in North Africa and the Sahel. For Iran, it is an opportunity to spread chaos in the region and expand both the proselytizing of Shiite Islam and the backing of Shiite terrorist groups.

This point has to be made. That Turkey is the new Iran, but worse.

I'm of the opinion we need to help the LNA reclaim Tripoli. That's the operation we will need to pursue to pull this across the finish line. We can't rely on the EU and if it's true they backstabbed us.
