  • He's been out with a pulled hamstring I think. He might not be back until probably the UCL games start again and the Series A and Coppa Italia are wrapped up.

With that being said, his Napoli held out for a 1-1 draw against Inter to go into the final. It was a weird game and Gattuso said as much after the game. In the 2nd minute, Ericksen scored direct from a corner kick, but it was a freak goal. Ospina and the Napoli defense failed to deal with it. That put both teams level on aggregate. Inter could have gone two up, but Ospina stood strong in goal thereafter and that seemed to have given the rest of the team more confidence. Mertens scored to make things level after some neat work from Insigne and a smart long throw from Ospina, who went from zero to hero at that point. And then after that things were pretty quiet. Sanchez carved out a great chance, but the game had otherwise petered out with Napoli happy to see out a 1-1 draw which was enough to put them into the final.

Gattuso dedicated the game to his sister Francesca. She was 37, a victim of a rare illness that left her requiring surgery and staying in intensive care four months ago.

    • Apparently Manolas got injured in the most stupidest way possible. Apparently he was playing foot tennis or something and did a bicycle kick and that’s how he got injured...

      • I don't think he'll be back in time for the final against Juventus this Wednesday, but he did start training again yesterday and will be back for the restart of the league. Napoli could still nab a UCL place in the league.

        • He's part of the squad for the final tonight, but it's unlikely he'll feature at all.

            • If it wasn't for his dumb injury, he would have played a starring role. Be that as it may, he's got the UCL to look forward to. And there's no Liverpool to stand in his way this time like was the case at Roma; however, Bayern Munich remain a serious obstacle for any team.

              • I thought Manolas gave a good account for himself at the Camp Nou, but Messi remains as good as ever. Messi could very well have had a hattie on the night. His one goal was nothing short of phenomenal. Very few teams can contend with a player of Messi's quality.

Apparently Napoli want to make an exchange with Juventus: Milik for Demiral, the Turk. Koulibaly is as good as out the door.

                • They didn't play this past weekend against Juventus. Now there's an investigation taking place to figure out if Napoli broke the pandemic prevention protocols.

The FIGC Federal Prosecutor is reportedly investigating Napoli’s application of the anti-Covid protocol after the first two cases of coronavirus emerged last week.

                  • somewhat culpable for benevento's opening goal (scored by insigne's brother). made a great stretch to deny insigne a pass...manolas on ground, didn't get up to track and mark insigne. ball came back to insigne, easy goal. manolas hit the bar later on off a corner.

napoli wins, 1-2. 2nd place in serie a.

                    • Now back to Olympiakos where all aging past-it defenders come to die. That move to Napoli was such a waste but if he got paid I'm sure he's fine with swirling down the toilet.

Took a 3 million pay cut to come back apparently.
