    According to Uefa:

Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.

The red card rules are almost non-existent in the PDF which is strange.

In the WC, a red card is a one match ban. If it's violent conduct, as in Livaja's case, he's definitely missing two matches and possibly three. If Lopes did likewise, same deal.

Bakasetas should be available for the 2nd match, not that I feel much better about that.

No new agreement with Simeos due to $$$, his manager has left Greece. Great let’s just let this guy leave too, becoming a circus.

Absolute joke. He was our captain all last season. He clearly plays for the shirt.

We could have built a team for years to come around him, Johannsen, Vranjes and Araujo (not to mention Lazaros for the next 2 or 3).

Instead we are scraping the bucket, even though we are in CL.... This shit really makes me think Meli or someone is pocketing the money....

          When does his contract expire?

            https://www.fifa.com/the-best-fifa-f...puskas-award/#

Turncoat Lazaros is up for a Puskas award this year. I voted for him, everybody on the forum should if they please.

He doesn't have a chance in hell of winning but even so. That kick by the Cruzeiro player should win, as it's incredible. Reminds me of the Negredo strike in Mundial '86.

Simoes contract is up next summer. I think he will sign. We dont know for sure what's going on.

Also Johansson didnt want to stay no matter what, he wqnted to test himselfnin a better league, Araujo we had no option as Las Palmas wanted like 20 mil or more (they rejected a 20m bid from an Asian team), Vranjes is unknown but I believe he wanted to leave, and Lazaros well...is Lazaros. So it's just Vranjes that we couls have kept...if it was due to money.

It would be quite funny if Lazaros won for scoring vs his current team.

Apparently there will be a decision made about his contract tomorrow or Thursday.

I actually believe Lazaros was always a closet Gavro. You don't sit with G7 in Salonika unless you are affiliated. In the same was Gianniotas seems a life-long AEK fan by his statements recently.

What type of budget are we on even after qualifying for the Champions League?? Players & agents are always going to ask for more than past seasons especially when you’ve done so well, it’s how the world works.

Feels like we never qualified for CL tbh, I really question the planning or if we are really that tight with the Euro’s. I also worry about the reputation that will start to get out about the club but looks like that’s happened already when you look at where our core has gone

I think Melissanidis still acts like its the pre-Bosman era. He hasn't made the proper investments into the squad. AEK will be the laughing stock of Europe. You can see it coming from a mile away. Ouzonidis especially isn't cut out for this level. I'd be amazed if he last more than two months.

Laughing stock of Europe? Okay lets take it back a notch here.

Ajax arent the team they once were as we all know, they have not really done much recently in Europe to be considered being made a laughing stock of. Sure they made the final of the EL 2 years ago which is a great achievement but on there way there they faced Panathinaikos/Standard Liege/Celta Vigo/Legia Warsaw/Copenhagen/Schalke/Lyon.....nothing major IMO bar maybe Lyon, if even, and when they did face a quality side they lost (final). They havent played in the CL groups in 4 years and havent gotten out of the group stages since 2005.

Benfica, a lot more pominent in Europe recently but even then not enough to be made a laughing stock out of us.
They lost all 6 CL games last season vs CSKA/Basel/United.......
This year they squeezed by Fenerbahce and paok gave them a run for there money, were gifted the lead thanks to Paschalakis.

                        Bayern is another story.

We may not qualify, we may finish last, but the laughing stock of Europe? Definitely not.

Laughing stock of Europe now that made me laugh. Yes we have a tricky group, Bayern is obviously the biggest worry, the other 2 on our day with a full squad we can match it with them.

As for the Ouzo to be gone by 2 months, come on now you can’t be serious.

I think you are right Reaper I could've sworn I saw a picture floating around of Lazaros as a youngster wearing an Olympiakos jersey

I dont think AEK will be the laughing stock of Europe. Context is everything, this is AEK''s first year back in the Champions League after a long absence. Even if things don't go in AEK's favor I don't think they will be a laughing stock. If they were in the competition year in year out and got humiliated then that's a different story.

Ouzo is a great coach, he is a one that gets the best out of his players. The priority should be to try and make some noise in Europe, but honestly I would try to defend the title. Champions League is a big win for AEK no matter what happens

Ajax are beatable I've been following them lately and the defensive line isn't all that great. Their biggest threat is their front three, but with a solid plan I see AEK being able to beat them or steal a point. Benfica and Bayern will be a lot tougher, but I think AEK can get into the Europa league by finishing third, or (preferably) shocking us all and topping the group

We play Trikala today in a friendly, Giannotas and Jesus are in the squad. I wonder what Ouzo will do with Jesus when he’s full fit, who gets dropped Lambro or Oikonomou? Back 3 with 2 wingbacks? Personally I’d drop Oikonomou but I feel Ouzo rates him.

They’re also saying Boye isn’t far away either from playing.

Simeos contract talks are still ongoing, he’s asked for 700k, a deal will be done though once bonuses are included, we don’t need to lose him also.
