First time in Greek history Turkey has two foreign ministers working for it

    https://greece.greekreporter.com/201...rgy-resources/

Greek foreign minister George Katrougalos said on Thursday that Turkey should not be excluded from the energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean during his meeting with his counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in the Turkish resort of Antalya.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Katrougalos said “We know that Turkey has certain rights regarding energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean.” Turkey has rights based on international maritime law and Greece is “aware” of that, he added.

In an earlier interview with Anadolu Agency speaking of Turkey’s role in the energy sector in the East Mediterranean, the Greek minister said “Greece sees Turkey’s inclusion as positive, under its rights provided by international law.”

As he noted, “How could someone exclude from this area Turkey, which has such a long coastline on the Mediterranean Sea? Nobody claims the reverse.”

The two countries can make an example of peaceful coexistence with respect to international law, Katrougalos said at the press conference. He added that the two foreign ministers had decided to move on to a positive agenda.

On his part, Turkish foreign minister Cavusoglu stated that the two countrie must overcome together the challenges they are facing, and take advantage together of the opportunities in the region.

Regarding the issue of Cyprus, Cavusoglu said he and Katrougalos would hold a series of informal meetings to see if a new peace effort for the island is possible.

Human scum. No other words. However, I don't blame these mentally unwell politicians. I blame the low IQ Greeks who voted them in, twice.

Erdogan's policies and subsequent economic meltdown have resulted in him losing a ton of support and yesterday's elections show that. Ankara and Istanbul, which have both been under AKP control for awhile, have now been lost.

As such, Erdogan will likely embark on an even more erratic foreign policy. The expected and low hanging fruit option will be another military operation against the Kurds in Syria, while a more serious one will be against Greek Cypriots and/or Greece in the aegean.

He tried incredibly hard to rally the nationalist sentiment prior to the elections, hoping that it would help maintain support for him despite the economy, but that wasn't enough.

For all intents and purposes, the economy is going to continue to contract, and we will then see what Erdogan chooses to do.

The US has halted shipment of all subsequent f35 related shipments to turkey (including training equipment and materials for production).

Turkey is playing a game to eventually annex parts (or at least establish a zone of influence) out of northwest Syria:

They're also involved in a proxy war in Libya against a general; supported by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Russia, Egypt, and now the US. The US originally supported the current recognized government of Libya, but the change of heart suggests the US has given up on trying to turn Libya into a democracy (which would only descend further into the Islamic hellhole that it is now) and has settled on dictatorship (being the lesser of the two evils) much like it was under Ghaddafi before he was murdered by the Islamists now in power.

Yes, it was obvious from day one there plan was to carve that section of North Syria out and return it to ottoman control. Turkish is even taught in schools in that pocket now too. Media though don't seem to mind. Turkey is much loved internationally.

Excellent article. If only Trump had the wisdom to withdraw those nukes.

The nukes should have been removed a long time ago, and yet they remain there.

The US seems so scared of Turkey - it really makes you wonder how the world's most powerful country could be held hostage by a country filled with goat fuckers.

The bombs should be deactivated, transported out of Turkey, and then re-activated when they reach a safe destination. Turkey cannot legitimately stop the US from taking the bombs out, so it seems unfounded to me that the US would be scared.

The US wants countries like Turkey and Pakistan strong. If there are genuine rivals - the US may pick the rival that suits the US foreign policy the most. Greece is not even a rival of Turkey - it is a perpetually bullied victim of Turkey. That is the simple truth. Greece in this whole situation looks like this:

They are not scared trust me - if the USA wanted them out they would be out Turkey is strategically placed between Russia and Iran - They also want Turkey to be purchasing US weapons not make their own or buy from Russia . America only cares about countries that are a threat economically or militarily - Turkey is neither to them so any policies regarding Turkey will be done so with Americas best interests first .

As expected, Turkey has signed an illegal deal with the Sarraj led "government" in Libya which doesn't even control the entire Libyan territory. The deal essentially makes crete, kasos, karpathos, rhodes irrelevant and strips them of their EEZ, as Turkey now wants to control half of the Mediterranean.

Nikos Dendias went to Egypt yesterday and both Greece and Egypt agreed that they will expedite delineating the EEZ's between both countries.

Mitsotakis is also apparently going to request that Turkey be condemned at the NATO summit which is being held soon.

This is going to get bad super quickly

                                long interview, but great listen.

The next play will be Erdogan sending Turkish frigates close to Crete to "protect" Libya
