I agree that he deserves to start on the bench. But as a player Limnios has played very well most of the time for Greece. I haven’t got a problem with him starting or is on the bench. I have more of a problem with other players starting. We all know who they are. 8 times out of 10 Limnios has played well and has been a standout apart from the last couple games we’ve played.

It wouldn’t be so bad if Tzolis and Limnios both started on the wings. I’d be for it. Tzolis without a doubt should be starting. He a clinical finisher. Our main concern should be who Van’t Schip starts in midfield.

I agree with you’ve said Amorgo, but for a player like Kampetsis who has stepped up needs to be given some attention and same goes for Douvikas - (who has played more and scored more).

Giving Kampetsis a cap or 2 for Greece would give him the world of confidence. He can build on from there. We need to start giving players who have got some sort of talent more time to shine, especially for Greece. Also teams from more competitive leagues outside of Greece will have a look at certain players. Limnios is an example.

Tzolis who is our most inform player has been very under utilised. Giving our most deserving youngsters a proper chance to show what they got for Greece helps everyone. Gives the player loads of confidence, will give them exposure from better clubs and they’ll go back to there clubs with a boost to perform even better. Then other clubs from abroad pick them up for a good amount of money, which will help that certain club financially and then that player will improve even further because it either sink or swim, which then also helps the national team, their new club and themselves. It’s win-win all round.

I don’t know if Sokratis moving to Olympiakos has changed Van’t Schip’s mind. I don’t think it has. But I like the move. Sokratis has been a great servant for the national team it’s a shame the way things have turned out. There aren’t many players like him in Greece. I’m looking forward to see him play in a Olympiakos jersey.

As for Giakoumakis, he should start. But we do need back up strikers if things don’t work out. Douvikas and Kampetsis are great back ups to have at this time.

Lately Kampetsis is looking very good. Has scored 2 goals and 1 assist the last 3 games. He’s trying to prove himself. He should be looked at for Greece. It will bring his confidence up even more. Maybe drop Pavlidis for the next games so he can regain his form.

Douvikas has been even more impressive and can’t be ignored. Kampetsis and Douvikas have played together for Greece u19s a year and a half ago. They stood out the most in the team. It’s time they get their chance for the men’s side. It would be good to try other options.

On current form this is our best line up in my opinion.

    Vlachodimos

    G.Masouras Hatzidiakos Mavropanos Giannoulis

    Zeca Alexandropoulos

    Pelkas Fortounis Tzolis

    Giakoumakis

Tzolakis can also make the team as he played very well against Panaitolikos. He seems to impress every time he plays. Giannis Masouras is the fastest player in Poland and has played regularly since joining his team. Most notably as a RWB. Not many standouts at CB to be honest. Giannoulis at the moment is healthy and is number 2 behind the injured Tsimikas. Pelkas has been doing very well and has mostly played on the wing. Which is interesting since he’s better in the middle.

Fortounis has been scoring lately and Tzolis is continuing to impress. He almost scored a great goal against Olympiakos a few days ago. Giakoumakis as Reaper said is the top goal scorer in Holland. He seems like he is carrying his team on his back.

Notable mentions would be players like Pinakas and Douvikas. Both these players should be involved somehow. Pinakas most of the time is carrying AEL but he’s still young and needs to improve in some areas of his game I think. But he’s showing great potential with the goals he scored against PAOK and Olympiakos and also has great dribbling ability. He can take on players with ease and can play in all the attacking positions. He’s also only 19 years old.

Douvikas is a number 9 that I like. I like his style - strong, mobile, fast and score in many ways. I don’t know if I would start him over Giakoumakis at the moment but he would definitely be someone who can provide an impact off the bench for Greece.

These are the players that have been called up for our next matches. The blue are the ones I agree that should be there and the ones I’ve given a pass to. The red is the ones I don’t agree with and the ones that shouldn’t even be there.

Vlachodimos, Dioudis, Barkas, Hatzidiakos, Michaildis, Giannoulis, Kyriakopoulos, Bouchalakis, Masouras, Limnios, Pelkas, Tsimikas, Siopis, Tzolis, Mantalos, Fortounis, Pavlidis

Rota, Svarnas, Lampropoulos, Tzavellas, Kourbelis, Zeca, Bakasetas, Mavrias, Koulouris, Giakoumakis

So, there’s 17 players that in my opinion have rightly been called up and 10 that have been wrongly called up.

The ones in the green (when healthy and available) are the ones that should replace the reds in my opinion.

G.Masouras, Retsos, Manolas, Mavropanos, Vasiliadis, Galanopoulos, Fountas, Lyratzis, Douvikas, Chatzigiovannis
